My name is Ben Blasel and I belong to the Marshfield Area Kennel Club and Rock River Valley Australian Shepherd Club. My kennel is located on a working 80 acre farm. We have a variety of animals including registered Belted Galloway cattle.
I have been showing and training dogs since third grade. I started in 4-H with a rough coat collie competing in obedience and showmanship. I soon figured out I wanted to compete in other venues, such as AKC and UKC. After a couple of years I got the two shelties, a bi-black, Brady and a sable and white, Gracie. With the shelties I did 4-H, AKC and UKC competitions. The highlight of my 4-H career was when Brady and I took the Best overall handler in showmanship in 2010. Along with numerous placements in obedience, Brady also has his open agility titles. Gracie was shown in UKC and was able to make the top 10 in conformation. She continues to train agility with my mom.
I stayed in the herding group and got my first Australian Shepherd, Sage, in 2010 from Lisa Ott of Everready Australian Shepherds in Marshfield, Wisconsin. I began breeding Australian Shepherds in 2011 with the help of Everready Aussies. I continue to show in ASCA, AKC and UKC competing in conformation and agility. I hope to start herding soon.
